The ANC is concerned that a few weeks after the United Nations top court ordered Israel to stop its military operations in Gaza, Tel Aviv has continued its bombardment of the area. Recently more than 100 Palestinians were shot dead as they waited for an aid delivery. We are deeply concerned that the civilian population in Gaza has not received humanitarian aid and medical supplies.
The International Court of Justice delivered its judgment a few weeks ago where it said Israel must implement provisional measures to stop the attacks in the Gaza strip. In defiance of this ruling, Israel has intensified its operations, and more civilians have been killed since the judgment.
We will stand hand in hand with the Palestinians until they achieve their freedom. The deliberate targeting of non combatants is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights laws and principles.
South Africa remains committed to playing a constructive role in fostering peace and stability globally. We call on all nations to work together to prevent further suffering and bloodshed and aim to protect civilians from harm.
From The River To The Sea, Palestine Will Be Free!!!
