The Office of the ANC Chief Whip congratulates ANC MP, comrade Thoko Didiza, on her election as Chairperson of the Ad Hoc Committee to amend Section 25 of the Constitution for the expropriation of land without compensation. The Ad Hoc Committee met for the time today to elect a committee chair and craft their programme of action.

The Committee was established on 6 December 2018, in terms of National Assembly Rule 253, and tasked with introducing legislation that will amend Section 25 of the Constitution.

The resolution of the land question forms part of the founding principles of the African National Congress. In essence it is the ultimate expression of transformation and restitution. With this in mind we wish the committee well as they embark on this historic process.
