I hereby move without notice on behalf of the African National Congress that the House –

1) Note that on 1 November, the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development took a very important step against child maintenance defaulters;
2) Also note that the Department signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Maintenance Online Listing of Defaulters with the Social Justice Foundation, and the Consumer Profile Bureau
3) Further note that this ceremony was addressed by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development
4) Applauds the Department for entering into this crucial partnership to enforce the right of the children to be maintained by both parents, as espoused by the Maintenance Act
