I hereby move without notice on behalf of the African National Congress that the House –

1) Note that the Limpopo Executive Council convened on 30 October 2024 to address the alarming surge of food poisoning incidents reported across schools in the province.
2) Also notes that in its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of the learners, the Executive Council has resolved to implement a series of urgent measures aimed at tackling this crisis effectively
3) These measures include the establishment of a Joint Operating Committee (JOC), bringing together various stakeholders in the province; to devise a unified strategy in response to this matter; Vendor Accountability: A ban will be imposed on the sale of snacks from brands identified to contain foreign objects or lacking expiry dates; and more
4) Congratulate the provincial government of Limpopo for wasting no time addressing this matter
