The African National Congress moves without notice: That the House.

1. extends our heartfelt congratulations to Team South Africa for proudly representing the country at the 2024 Paris Olympics;
2. acknowledges that their dedication and sacrifices were fruitful, with the team bringing home six medals – 1 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze;
3. recognizes that our stand-out performer was swimmer Tatjana Smith, who secured the nation’s only gold medal in the women’s 100m breaststroke and a silver medal in the women’s 200m breaststroke;
4. commends the team consisting of teenagers Bayanda Walaza, Bradley Nkoana, Shaun Maswanganyi and Akani Simbine as well as Tatjana Smith, Alan Hatherly, Jo-Ane van Dyk and our rugby team Blitzboks, for flying our flag high at the Olympic Games; and
5. calls upon our citizens to continue supporting Team South Africa, who will be competing in the Paralympic Games from 28 August until 08 September 2024.
