Two bust in Cape Town for 'Running' R1.9m Abalone Drying Facility
The growth of criminal network networks of crime in their reach and sophistication across national boundaries is of great concern. These include syndicates that deal with smuggling as well, as drug trafficking and abuse. We commend the Hawks for having made inroads into dismantling crime syndicates in the Western Cape.
This has been demonstrated by the rest of two individuals for allegedly running an abalone drying facility. This was a joint operation between the Hawks, Crime Intelligence, the National Intervention Unit and the provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
The Hawks will continue to act against abalone smuggling drugs syndicates. The ANC calls on all citizens to assist the law enforcement agencies by reporting any act of criminality or information thereof. Our Government commits itself to expanding and deepening cooperation amongst law- enforcement agencies not just in the region but further afield as well.
I thank you
