Launch of the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere School of Leadership
The ANC welcomes the establishment of The Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Leadership School, inaugurated on Wednesday 23 February 2022 at Kibaha in the Coast Region of Tanzania. This campus will serve political parties in the region and be a platform for China to enhance exchanges with them as a form of party-to-party diplomacy. It will train leaders from pro-independence parties in South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe, as well as Tanzania. This project comes as a significant milestone in the SADC region, in honour and remembrance of Mwalimu, who is known for sharing the values of integrity and commitment in leadership.
For a long time, the six progressive parties in southern Africa have united and led their people in the cause of national independence, construction and development, winning the support of the people. These are The Revolutionary Party of Tanzania, the African National Congress of South Africa, the Mozambique Liberation Front Party and the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola, the SWAPO Party of Namibia and the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front. This campus will provide an important platform for these sister parties to improve their governing capacity and will play an active role in promoting the development and revitalization of their respective countries..
