SENIOR CONSTITUENCY FIELD WORKER (Salary: An all‐inclusive salary package at Level 10 per annum – R500, 271.43 p. a)


  • National Senior Certificate with a post matric qualification and experience in Social, Human Sciences or development studies will be an added advantage;
  • 5 years’ relevant experience and understanding of socio-economic and political issues in the province;
  • Ability to carry out primary research at basic level;
  • Computer Literacy;
  • Driver’s licence;
  • Grounded knowledge of ANC policies, procedures, strategies and programmes;
  • A good understanding of the Legislative arm of the State and its functions;
  • Ability to work within the structures, systems and processes of the ANC, Caucus and Parliament;
  • Excellent communication skills, including highly developed writing skills and political writing skills;
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills;
  • Sound interpersonal skill and a strong ability to take initiative;
  • Good organizational and project management skills;
  • Proven leadership ability;
  • Excellent communication, coordination, networking and interpersonal skills;
  • Resourceful and solution orientated;
  • Sound time management skills;
  • Will be required to travel within the province from time to time; and
  • Proven established ANC membership in good standing.


  • To provide effective and efficient senior field worker support to Constituency Field Workers in the Province;
  • Reports to the Head of Constituency Field Worker in the Office of the Chief Whip;
  • Responsible for consolidating constituency reports as received from constituency field workers into a provincial report for submission to the Head of Constituency Field Work;
  • Engages with provincial researchers based in the office of the Provincial Chief Whips to develop and build profiles of existing initiatives in assigned provinces;
  • Gathers and analyses relevant information and reports from PCO offices through Constituency Field Workers;
  • Tracks and reports on how funds granted for field work in assigned constituency are being used;
  • Highlights areas for improved use of funds based on trends and observations made;
  • Alerts the Head of Constituency Field Work Support to any immediate and / or significant risk;
  • Establishes strong networks of relevant stakeholders within assigned provinces; and
  • Identifies complimentary programs or sources of funding that may enhance the effectiveness of specific fieldwork initiatives
