ANC Caucus Commemorates World Aids Day

1 December 2020

The African National Congress Caucus in Parliament joins the international community in commemorating World AIDS Day on this; the first day of December 2020. This year, we commemorate world AIDS day in the midst of two pandemics that are swiping across the country this day; COVID-19 and Gender-Based Violence.

As the ANC Caucus, we continue to call on all South Africans who do not know their status to empower themselves with this knowledge by testing for HIV and getting treatment at the right time. Partnerships are key in strengthening our fight against HIV and AIDS

As we see a resurgence in both these pandemics, we must appreciate that the war is far from over and redouble our efforts, with the same vigour and commitment that we demonstrated in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

For as long as true liberation is threatened by enemies such as HIV and AIDS, TB, Coronavirus, and Gender-Based Violence, the ANC will never equivocate.

Issued by the Office of the Chief Whip; Hon. Pemmy Majodina
