06 March 2023
The ANC Parliamentary Caucus welcomes the reconfiguration of government and changes to the National Executive announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa today, 06 March 2023. The changes to the National Executive will enhance the government’s capacity, particularly in the departments where there were vacancies.
The ANC Caucus believes that the President has taken time to carefully consider the necessary changes informed by the challenges we face as a nation and the need for government to take decisive action to address them. The Caucus welcomes the process that the Presidency and National Treasury will undertake to develop proposals to rationalise government for the new term.
The ANC Caucus takes this opportunity to welcome the appointment of the Deputy President of the ANC, Comrade Paul Mashatile, as the Deputy President of the Republic.
We also believe that the redeployment of Comrades Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Mondli Gungubele, to new portfolios as Ministers and Comrades Pinkie Kekana, and Obed Bapela as Deputy Ministers will bring stability to their respective departments.
We congratulate the newly appointed Ministers Comrades Maropene Ramokgopa, Thembi Nkadimeng, Noxolo Kiviet, Sihle Zikalala, Zizi Kodwa, Sindisiwe Chikunga and the Minister for Electricity, Dr Kgosientso Ramokgopa, who has the unenviable task of ending load shedding and ensuring energy security to accelerate the industrialisation of our economy to create jobs and keep the lights on in our households and businesses.
We congratulate the newly appointed Deputy Ministers, Comrades Nomasonto Motaung, Kenny Morolong, Sisisi Tolashe, Parks Tau, Zolile Burns-Ncamashe, Judith Tshabalala, Bernice Swarts, Dipuo Peters, and Lisa Mangcu.
