The ANC Study Group on Home Affairs has been made aware of a preliminary investigation into allegations of maladministration and corruption at the Government Printing works implicating the Acting CEO Ms Alinah Fosi by the Minister of Home Affairs Dr Phakishe Aaron Motsoaledi and welcomes the following actions taken:

• Referral of the matter to the Public Service Commission to investigate.
• The Portfolio Committee has directed the Minister to conduct a full investigation on the entire governance structures at Government Printing Works which include Supply Chain Management, Human Resources and Security Systems.
• The Minister of Home Affairs will subsequently brief the Portfolio Committee on the preliminary report by the end of May 2020

For its part the, ANC is satisfied with the steps taken thus far by the Minister and strongly believes that the rule of law and due diligence must be followed to the letter.

It is with regret therefore that the DA has maliciously chosen to undermine the proposed processes by accusing ANC members of the Committee on defending maladministration and corruption thus undermining the principle of natural justice (audi alteram partem) in its attempts at scoring cheap political points.

In conclusion, ANC members are directed by the 54th National Conference Resolutions to fight against corruption and maladministration in all its forms in both public and private institutions in the interest of clean governance.
